Volunteer Event! - Heal the Bay - Saturday, May 2nd @ 9 AM - 12 PM
The UM Club of LA is participating in the 2nd Annual Michigan Alumni Community Service Day, which is always held on Graduation Saturday. This year we will be cleaning up Santa Monica Beach from 9:00am - 12:00pm with Heal the Bay. This organization raises awareness about ocean pollution and works to conserve our coastal resources. Volunteers of all ages are welcome, but participants under 18 years old must be accompanied by a guardian. Heal the Bay will provide all the cleanup supplies. After the clean-up we'll head out for lunch and drinks on Santa Monica Pier for volunteers who are interested.

Happy Hour - Beverly Hills - Wednesday, May 6th @ 6:30PM - ?
Our monthly Happy Hour campaign moves to Beverly Hills at the Stone Rose Lounge at the Sofitel Hotel in Beverly Hills.
Parking at the Sofietel Hotel is expensive, so please use street parking. Or, you can park at the Beverly Center right across the street. It's a mere $1 for four hours of parking!
The Stone Rose Lounge is managed by the famed Kim Gregory, an ardent Michigan supporter. Some of you will remember Kim as the manager of Gotham Hall, where we used to blow it out for our football game watches. Kim is going to roll out the red carpet for us. You won't want to miss it! The Stone Rose is at Sofitel LA - 8555 Beverly Blvd., Los Angeles CA (across the street from the Beverly Center)
Dinner with Lloyd Carr - Wednesday, May 20th @ 6:30 PM - 10:00 PM
On Wednesday, May 20, The Big Ten Club of Southern California is honoring it's person of the year - Lloyd Carr! This will be a dinner event at the Tournament of Roses House in Pasadena. Lloyd will be speaking, there will be several "guest stars" in attendance, and...let's not forget the cake shaped like the Big House. Not too shabby.
Seating is very limited (only 95 seats are available), so please register asap! I'll see you there!
